it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A color printer will empower GRIT, our mental wellness club, to create visually engaging materials that make mental health information more accessible and inviting. Currently, our black-and-white resources lack the visual appeal needed to capture students’ attention. Color adds emphasis and clarity, helping students retain wellness techniques and making mental health resources feel positive and approachable.
Our goal with this project is to promote awareness and eliminate the stigma around mental health on campus.
Using color allows us to create inviting, uplifting posters, handouts, and other resources that normalize conversations around mental wellness. Instead of mental health feeling clinical or uncomfortable, colorful materials make it feel like a natural, celebrated part of student life. By promoting wellness in this vibrant way, we aim to build a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to discuss mental health openly and to seek help without fear.
Our students are resilient, compassionate, and eager to break down mental health stigmas. They are diverse and face a variety of challenges, yet they are committed to supporting each other and creating a culture of empathy. These students want to build a campus where mental wellness is prioritized, and with access to a color printer, we can give them the tools to lead that change. By empowering them to create engaging, memorable materials, we’re equipping them to make a lasting impact on campus mental wellness, fostering a community where everyone feels valued and supported.
