Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Most of my students come from low-income neighborhoods and attend a 100+-year-old school with very old facilities. They know they do not have the best when it comes to facilities, but I would like to give them the best materials possible!
They want to learn, but do not always have the most current resources that will help them be successful.
These students span from 9th - 12th grade, and typically struggle with science. They deserve to have the best tools available to help them achieve academically.
My Project
The Handheld Digital Imager and the AmScope Microscope Viewer are some of the best and easiest to use pieces of equipment for a biology classroom. Students will now be able to bring the microscope and everyday objects to a digital screen for easier viewing.
These items will allow my students to access the microscopic world like never before!
All the students have to do is press a button and look at a screen. Have you ever wondered what your fingerprints look like at 1000x magnification? How about the fibers of your sweater? Or the organisms in your local pond? With these items, my students won't have to wonder anymore - they can discover it for themselves!
After viewing the microscopic world around them, my students will be able to sketch their images with the finest Ticonderoga pencils. The real world, digital imaging, and art combined into one amazing project!
