My Project
Each summer we offer students the opportunity to attend a four week summer learning camp. This year our theme is the Summer Olympics. This theme allows us to explore the history of the games, the Olympic events, the athletes, and the Olympic spirt that inspires people around the world.
This project would allow me to have a summer library dedicated to the Olympics and the athletes. Teachers and students will have access to the materials to enrich the learning experience. These exciting read a louds and informational books will increase student engagement.
Our school is a title I school in a rural area. Students have struggled with reading. It is my hope that this summer will inspire students to become lirfe long readers who love to pick up a book and be transported to another time and place. I hope that students are inspired by the stories of athletes who over came the odds to become stand outs in their fields.
