This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a diverse group ranging from grade 9 to grade 12 at a comprehensive, urban high school. They all receive special education services and are working in general education settings to receive high school diplomas. I work in English classrooms and in my own reading classroom to assist them in accessing their English Language Arts content.

I am dropping this project in order to provide more high interest and accessible literature to my students.

We are planning a project to compare the novel to filmed versions of various texts and we need multiple texts to make this happen. We would like to create our own media in response, such as movie and book reviews. Finally, I would like to inspire more excitement in my students about reading, which unfortunately is currently a least preferred activity.
