Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This generation of students is surrounded by technology. Everywhere you turn a child is holding an iPad or Kindle on their lap. Unfortunately our classroom consists of only one working computer to be used by 18+ students.
My students LOVE anything to do with technology.
Their favorite specialist class is of course, Computer Technology. However, our underfunded school continues to use first generation Mac computers that no longer have any updates they are that old. Center time is limited to one working computer.
My Project
The iPad mini would be a staple to our daily center routines. By having an additional source for my students to actively be engaged in a literacy/math intervention program is essential in helping them become fluent readers. Although our school is given one computer-based literacy intervention, we have no way of having each of our struggling learners utilize this program without more than one functioning computer.
Your generous donations will allow for my students to have an additional resource in improving their literacy and math deficits.
They will increase their knowledge of a diverse technological resource while continuing to enhance their learning through the use of technology.
