This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I put a focus on STEAM materials because they touch on so many important elements that will help prepare my students for the future.

The Fairytale Kits are going to be great for small group learning.

They will allow students to problem-solve while collaborating with each other, while answering the questions they posed themselves while reading the fairytale.

During our gardening unit, we will read The Seed is Sleepy and supplement it by giving the students a hands-on experience planting seeds and carrying that knowledge into the dramatic play center with their pretend vegetable garden.

Throughout the year, we discuss community helpers such as: vets, firemen, police officers, construction workers and allowing them to role-play with costumes would help them get into the role easier.

We celebrate differences and similarities in the classroom during Women's History, Black History, Hispanic Heritage Months and we use a lot of the multicultural paper and markers to represent ourselves and other historical figures in the classroom. Through these projects, we see our differences and honor and celebrate them because they make us who we are.
