This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I will bring Spring to life by using these Butterfly wings to teach the lifecycle of a Butterfly through dance. We will also touch on multi-cultural dance by doing a traditional Chilean dance called "La Mariposa".

My students at this school have a playground with no trees or nature.

For this reason, it is important for them to be in touch with nature as much as possible through classroom activities. I bring real butterflies for students to see, and teach them about the lifecycle through creative dance. We end with a traditional dance called "La Mariposa". The students are completely engaged in this activity and will be over the moon with these giant butterfly wings doing this activity.
