My Students
Don't judge a book by it's cover. In my classroom, I want my students to show compassion towards every person they meet. Everyday, they are faced with bullying for a multitude of reasons. I want my students to leave my classroom with a new, positive outlook on each other and life.
I work in an aggressive school where bullying and fights occur daily.
Students tease each other for their differences. I see a lot of good in these students though. I see their creativity, imagination, quirkiness, and desire to learn and be great.
My Project
With this classroom set of Wonder, my students will learn compassion. We will also use the book to study character traits, make inferences, discuss plot and resolution, and many other reading skills. There is so much truth to this story that I hope my students can take away into their own life.
The goal of this project is to change the perspective my students have of each other and their life.
I want to remind them to be kind and speak life through their actions and words.
