Bring Power to Our Classroom

Help me give my students 60 Chromebook power adapters so they don’t have to worry and can focus on learning and scholarship!

My Project

We need your help in supporting 120 students in grades 3 through 6 at our inner-city school in Baltimore. Our classrooms are filled with bright, determined children—most from low-income, minority families—who rely on school-issued Chromebooks. Unfortunately their everyday learning is seriously impacted simply because they lack power. Something as small as a charger is keeping students from learning, and access to a phenomenal education.

For our students, access to a working Chromebook means much more than screen time—it’s access to homework, a robust suite of digital learning platforms, research, and teacher communication.

It’s their lifeline to opportunity. In a community where resources are stretched thin, restoring just one device can make a world of difference in a child’s academic journey. A single power adapter can turn frustration into progress for a student eager to succeed.

These are hardworking students who have to juggle a myriad responsibilities, from babysitting and caretaking younger siblings, to: bringing school supplies, Chromebooks and textbooks daily but are negatively impacted simply because they forgot a $15 power adapter.

Traditionally, I’ve requested students to share adapters but I realize this unfairly penalizes the students that always bring their adapters. Besides- kids should have the opportunities to make mistakes, that’s how we learn and grow. The only other alternative I have is scheduling extra parent-teacher conferences and charging the parents an adapter replacement fee, which then takes a month to arrive. This all translates to time, energy, and resources are spent for a dismal outcome.

Your financial contributions will directly help us purchase them and save taxpayer dollars! Your generosity will directly impact Baltimore students, who are striving every day to learn in the face of economic hardship. Thank you for standing with us to close the technology gap and give every child the power they deserve.
