Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students in my school enjoy reading nonfiction books but do not check them out as often as other books. They may see books on display and grab those, but I cannot put every book on display. They do not always know what they are interested in reading about until they see groups of books together. And sometimes these books are not shelved near each other in the library. We can group these books in boxes!
The Book Bundles will encourage them to read the books on a topic they choose.
Each book bundle box will have 3 books that tie into a specific theme, with at least 2 of the 3 books from nonfiction. Each box will contain a bookmark, sticker, and eraser on the theme as well.
This gives students a visual representation of some topics they may not even know they are interested in, without having to search through the spines of the books on the shelf.
