This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The art club is a student-run club. Every week after 8th period, students join the club to learn how to draw, paint, and create different arts and crafts. Since they are in the process of learning, it would be best for them to start with kits. We would begin by making bracelets, then painting by numbers to get an idea of how to hold the paintbrushes and use a canvas. Finally, they would be able to move on and paint whatever they would like to with the acrylic paints. Since the club is after school and the students stay for 2 hours, the snacks are important so that students won't have to worry about being hungry.
The goal for this project is to be able to teach students little by little on how to become unleash their inner artist.
Many students believed that they weren't artistic enough to be part of art club, however we want to make sure these students believe in themselves and are able to unlock their true potential.
My students are special because they don't give up easily. They come every week and practice their skills. They are willing to participate and be part of this club. They show initiative and we have seen so much progress within them. Art Club is a place where they can relax and show their emotions through art. They show this through all the skills they've obtained like creativity, artistic skills, problem solving, teamwork and collaboration. Receiving this help would be very beneficial and help them grow even more.
