This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a group of fourth grade students who are highly enthusiastic and eager to learn something new every single day! My students always try their best at everything and anything, despite the challenges that they face in their daily lives.
My students live in an impoverished area of South Los Angeles.
All of my students come from low-income families.
We are a Title I school where one hundred percent of our students receive free meals. As a Title I school, we have limited supplies, limited resources, and are very low on the technology scale. My students do not all have the same opportunities at home and thus need to be exposed to as many opportunities as possible at school. One goal is to expose them to computer programming since this will be an area for many jobs in their future.
To enhance my students' academic and social abilities, my classroom needs many tools. One of the many areas in which my students need improvement is in language. Vocabulary and language will be one of the areas where we will work hard throughout this year.
My Project
The majority of my students are visual learners, therefore, I am asking for Epson black and color ink cartridges to print pictures in color. Having students who are ten years old speaking like and having the vocabulary of a 1st grade student, I know that using colored pictures will make their learning more realistic and help develop their language skills and vocabulary. I need to have visual cards to help them in this area. The ink that I am requesting will help me make vocabulary cards and print color pictures when bringing in the real thing is not an option.
Bringing color to our world will help develop vocabulary, language and enhance my students' learning through colorful, realistic looking pictures.
I hope you will help bring color into our room and make our world a little brighter. Thank you for reading our project.
