My Project
In my Algebra 2 and AP Pre-Calc classes, I am hoping to support my students by being able to flip my classroom and allow my students to see the mathematical process unfold in real-time by recording my notes and mathematical processes and having the students have access to a digital library of lessons. From here this will allow me the opportunity to spend class time practicing and applying what they learn, collaborating, while I am facilitating their learning in the classroom.
With enhanced technology in their classroom, students will be able to experience 21st-century learning of mathematics through visual manipulatives and have access to learning from more visuals and real-life exemplars.
In addition, this tool will allow me to screen record my notes, narrating the mathematical processes that I am teaching them so that they can go back and watch a second and third time if necessary.
I have found that being able to provide my students with video lessons and notes dictated to them serves them all in a variety of ways. My EL students can use closed captions to translate my words into their language. My students who are absent from school can watch the videos and stay current with their studies as if they are in class so they do not fall behind. This technology allows me to flip my classroom so that I can support my students through the productive struggle of learning, practicing, and applying the math they are learning.
