The students in my classroom are those already struggling in the area of mathematics and are receiving intense intervention services.
Many of the students have attention limitations and need hands-on types of activities to learn. Paper and pencil activities have failed my students so they need another way!
My Project
The materials that I am requesting will help keep the students engaged in learning. My kindergarten students are struggling with writing their numbers. I made tactile numbers and the students love them but they are not true to form because cutting bubble numbers out of sand paper is not an easy task! My second grade students are beginning to learn how to regroup and the regrouping activity will help them manipulate the numbers in order to understand the concept of regrouping. The Math Mat Challenge game will help keep students moving and engaged while working on number recognition, addition and subtraction facts.
Please help support the students who are struggling in math.
Help them try their best so that they may succeed. My students work so hard but it is the engaging materials that help keep their attention so that they are always learning. Please support them in their aim to try their best!
