My Students

I love teaching in my school! One of my challenges is helping the students properly prepare for their tests and helping them learn how to study appropriately.

I teach 8th grade social studies in a middle school in a diverse, low income, urban school district.

Our students love to use technology whenever it is available to them. I encourage every student to use technology when available to help them learn and grow. This helps the students want to come into my classroom in a safe environment and learn. My students are so enjoyable to work with! It is great to watch them become engaged and excited during an activity or assignment. Interactive activities are huge in helping my students learn.

My Project

My students love review games before tests (although they may not enjoy the tests themselves)! I'm looking for new ways to help them study and prepare. By having Classroom Jeopardy! in my room I will be able to use an exciting and competitive review game to help my students. The buzzer system will eliminate debate over who raised their hands first and the students will be excited by the interactive nature of the review. We will use the Jeopardy! game for our reviews throughout the year. Having done a low-tech review game in the past, I know the students will be thrilled to have a technology-based game and I can already anticipate them asking how soon we will be playing Jeopardy again!

I know that having Classroom Jeopardy!

in my room will help our preparation for tests and bring more enthusiasm to the review process. This will help their performance in my classroom and build their enthusiasm for Social Studies!
