My Students

What do you think of when you walk outside or in the woods on a nature trail, you listen to the sounds and you see how things are growing. For my students they don't get to do much of this when they are at home. I want to bring the outside in.

My students sit in a classroom that when you look around is culturally balanced, they come from various countries and speak various languages at home.

The students in my class come from families that are struggling financially. The students attend a title I school where funds are limited to purchase things that will enhance their learning outside of a textbook. The students in my class are hands-on learners, and learn better without a pencil in their hands.

My Project

Let me know take the time to tell you how the materials that are being requested will benefit the learning of my students. The first is the set of books, as a teacher it is hard to include science in the day because the focus is always on math and reading. So having these readers students will benefit in two ways. They will be able to learn about the life cycles of animals and improve their reading. The strange plant habitat will teach them about how different plants survive in the wild, and how they grow and function. The animal and plant flip chart will tell how animals and plants need each and teach students how to care for animals and plants using pictures and hands-on activities.

Please help support this project for my students, the joy science brings to their faces is priceless.

They are too often in front of the television or video games and do not get to go off exploring the nature around them. So that is why it is my job to bring nature to them. Field trips are limited due to the costs so that is why I need to bring the science to them inside the classroom.
