My students need a speaker that can be hooked up to a laptop, phone, or iPad to ensure they can all hear the audio being presented in order to enhance student learning.
Let's work together to get students hooked on history! My goal this year is to make history come alive for my students.
"You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives." ~Clay P. Bedford
My 90 eighth grade students have grown up next to a beautiful lush green mountain and a pristine beach.
They are privileged when it comes to the scenery, but with a deeper look around, my students are faced with many challenges. Our school is located in a predominantly rural, low-income neighborhood with a considerable portion of the children of Hawaiian and/or Pacific Island ancestry. To provide my students with access to the vast amounts of digital content available today and the best learning experience possible, this school needs your help!
My Project
Students are all unique and learn in a variety of ways. Simply having them read the textbook and answer a few questions will just not cut it. Students need to be immersed in the curriculum and be provided with the opportunity to learn the skills and content in a variety of ways to address their learning style needs. Through the analysis of historical music, students will be able to understand how people were feeling during a specific time period and be able to better understand what happened, why it happened, and how an event still affects us today. Short video clips will allow my students to really visualize an event and bring their learning to the next level. Without a speaker to hear the music and audio from videos, students will miss out on a rich classroom environment. Please help history come alive for my students!
With a speaker that can connect to multiple devices, student engagement will increase through the learning experiences that involve a variety of media, analysis of information, and critical thinking.
Students will also be able to share media that they have discovered as well. Your support will help students be challenged and supported in an active learning environment.
