Help me give my students a class-use Surface Go, with its digital inking capabilities. Microsoft will be matching donations to this project, so a little will go a long way. I have already supplied the Surface Pen accessory.
The student body at my high school is one of the more diverse in the state. We are indeed a true blending of different socioeconomic, ethnic, and geographic backgrounds.
Our school is part of an independent city school district in Kentucky.
My students are all seniors this particular school year. We do a lot of our classwork on computers, though we are the only grade in our school that is not 1:1 yet with personal devices. This project is to intended to give us an additional resource to use in our activities and projects.
My Project
We are a 12th grade class (five classes, actually) of students who are looking for a class-use device that provides the ability to use digital ink. The Microsoft Surface Go provides one of the best digital inking experiences. We do a lot of assignments and projects digitally, even though we are not 1:1 students. Our school offers no devices with inking capabilities, so it would be a big deal for our class to have such a device. We can use it to write, draw, color, etc. on various digital projects. It will also allow us to connect wirelessly to our classroom projector and "write" on the whiteboard from our desks. (Perfect for shy students or those with physical conditions that make it difficult to get up and walk to the front of the classroom.)
Digital inking is the future of education and business technology, and it would be great if we could get our hands on its benefits today.
