My Students
How can you work without the necessary tools? That is the challenge we face in the classroom everyday. Improvising is an art a teacher must quickly learn. In the face of limited resources needed to deliver instruction, an all-in-one printer to assist with projects will help us achieve this goal.
My school is a title 1 school with a very low-level of parental involvement.
The majority of our parents, who are eager to help, have so many limitations that inhibit their ability to support their students. Therefore, the bulk falls on the school to do its best in educating the "whole child". Sadly, due to budget constraints, our school has not been able to provide our children with the resources that they need. That's why I'm asking for a new colored printer to replace our old printer, which no longer works.
My Project
The all-in-one printer will broaden my students' technological know-how as they learn to scan, print and copy materials for their class projects and presentations. Students will research, print and display information that reinforces or offers new insights into our instructional focus. The printer will also be used to print student generated work on word processor. We have two computers in our classroom which my students use for word processing. At this time, we are unable to print any product. Our school's copier is always down, so the printer, copier and scanner functions will be invaluable, as they will lend themselves to various uses. The copier function will be used to duplicate reproducibles to reinforce the skills students need, or enhance advanced students' skills. We also need ink cartridges for the printer.
This project is important because our classroom printer is inoperable.
My students are unable to print work generated on the printer or print information off the Internet. Another hurdle is to find a copier to print a class set of any sort. Having the all-in-one printer will save time, facilitate instructions and enhance my students' learning in countless ways.
