Our students are working so hard to make up for lost time and learning due to the pandemic. They have attacked learning this year with an impressive zeal and fortitude. But remember when you were little and just figuring out something new and complicated, like reading? It can be tricky and you need every tool you've got. Our students were so excited to use technology as an additional tool to further their learning after getting used to it at home! But then our school needed to collect all the computers for students in and out of quarantine. Please help us bring the 21st century back into the class!
My Project
During Reading and Math stations, students work independently while the teacher works with a few students at a time. These small groups are some of the most effective times of the day. But what do the other students do? Until recently they used engaging literacy and math programs to read independently, learn new phonics concepts, and even practice math lessons. But now the computers are being used only for students in quarantine. Since we are unable to have group learning centers (due to Covid), our other option is paper and pencil work. As you can imagine, the computer literacy and math practice is much more engaging. Help us put the technology back in our day and the smiles back on our students' faces!
