it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach first grade at a two-way immersion school where both native Spanish speakers and native English speakers come together to learn a new language from one another. My sweet, bilingual students are hard-working, kind, and a joy to teach. I am so proud to be their teacher!
I am requesting supplies to help teach my students about monarch butterflies and what we can do to protect them.
I grew up caring for caterpillars and butterflies, and I know how incredible it is to watch their life cycle. I want to share that experience with my students. Additionally, monarch butterflies have now been listed as endangered species. I want to teach my students ways they can help protect endangered creatures and the importance of advocating for the protection of our planet and all living things that inhabit it.
I am requesting supplies to teach about monarch butterflies and their life cycle. These items include books and manipulatives, such as a monarch puppet and insect toys, to model the butterfly life cycle. The books also include lessons teachers can use to help plan instruction.
