You always hear teachers say, "You need to read, read, and read to get better at it. You need to be reading lots of books and a variety of books." This is exactly what I tell my students on a daily basis.
I teach 2nd grade at a Title 1 school.
I have 16 students who love to read. They love to read independently, with a partner, and as a class. Unfortunately, my school does not have enough leveled books for my students. They have been reading the same few books all year long.
My 2nd grade students love to read. They love to read independently, with a partner, and as a class. Unfortunately, they are missing out on reading "just right" books. When students read "just right" books they become better readers.
I want all my students to feel confident when reading books.
One of the ways they can do this is through reading lots of books and a variety of books on their level.
Please help me in providing books for my students, so they can become radiant readers. I want to see the joy on their faces when they can read a book on their own.
