My Project

My students are from an underserved community where they do not have easy access to diverse books. They enjoy reading, work hard, and deserve to have an engaging selection of books.

Having more high-interest books will engage even my most reluctant readers and promote a love of reading!

These books will help expand my classroom library for our school's fifth-grade students. Students will be able to select interesting books and check them out in order to read independently. All of these topics have been specifically selected by my students. My students really enjoy graphic novels and stories that they can relate to. When students are exposed to characters and stories they can connect to, they are more likely to become lifelong readers.
