My superstar students are children in grades Classic K-5. They have a love for reading and learning about the world around them. They also love to read stories that help to activate their imagination. They are learning about literacy and how important it is to become lifelong readers.
We are a school of choice district, so some of our students are neighborhood kids while others travel across town to attend school.
We have approximately 320 students from all income levels. Some students are above grade level academically, while others are below grade level. Each student has his/her own strengths and abilities.
My Project
Board games help to teach students social skills, such as memory, teamwork, patience, respect, taking turns, communication, following the rules, and winning and losing gracefully. They also help to improve memory, concentration, confidence, logic and reasoning skills, problem-solving, and decision making. All of these skills are lifelong skills that will help the students become better members of society.
These board games will all be implemented into a board game club.
We have approximately 50 students grades K-2 who will benefit in many ways from playing these games. Right now, we only have a few games to play so these board games will give them more options to choose from, as well as allowing a smaller number of students to play at a time.
