My Students
It is often said that attitude is everything, and that's why I want to provide my students with positive behavior instruction through these cute books. While my school utilizes a restorative justice behavior curriculum, and lots of positive behavior strategies, I am looking for a little something else. My students needs a little extra push that these books will bring to them, as they will be able to share these instructive books at home with their families. I want them to gain know how and confidence to improve their behavior, so that they can achieve to their maximum potential.
My Project
My students need various types of positive input to deal with a wide range of emotions. While every child, and every person for that matter, goes through ups and downs, my students have special needs which make it challenging for them to master behavior lessons quickly and accurately. They need explicit instruction about how to make friends, how to demonstrate responsibility, how to calm anxious thoughts, and how to manage personal space, along with other life lessons. These books give lessons on behavior in context, and often use humor to make lessons non-threatening and memorable. I want my students to borrow these books nightly, and share with their families.
