This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My amazing students are full of Monarch PRIDE! My students come to school every day excited about learning and building relationships within our school and classroom communities. Our school is located in the beautiful city of Manning, South Carolina. I am so grateful to be able to watch these students blossom as I grow alongside them! Thank you for supporting their growth and helping supply our classroom needs this school year. Every donation helps and is greatly appreciated! This year is going to be awesome!

My Project

This year, I am hoping to implement a soft start to our school day. So many mornings, my students come into class frustrated or anxious about events that transpired before they left home, or on the way to school. My wish is that by allowing students to start the morning with a relaxed, hands-on experience each day will help take away some of that frustration before we move into a full day of learning.

My plan is to establish a morning routine using morning bins to allow my students time to unwind and acclimate themselves to being back in the classroom setting each morning.

With these bins, I want to provide my students with an opportunity to apply engineering skills as they build and design structures using the items on my wishlist. The students would be able to work independently, as some students need that in the mornings, or in small groups with their classmates.
