Brightening Up the Building with Colorful Chairs

My students need a variety of acrylic paints so they can design and decorate 6 vintage wooden chairs to brighten up their school.

My Students

"By my teaching I hope to inspire you to personal activity and to present your vision." Robert Henri (1865-1929) My students are very anxious to make our school more beautiful. One way would be to paint 6 vintage (old) chairs for visitors and staff alike to enjoy throughout the building.

I see almost 300 students each week at my school.

We are located in an area where about half of our students are receiving free or reduced lunch. There is also a big percentage of students who are learning English as their second language. All of my students are very motivated and want to do well in school. When the students walk into the art room they are so happy and excited to get busy on the latest project. They enjoy working on individual projects, as well as working together as a group.

My Project

At my school we strive to create a warm and inviting environment for students, staff, and visitors. We have 6 old wooden chairs that my students are very anxious to paint. They take great pride in their school and want to do something to contribute to the environment. My art budget does not go very far thus I have already used almost all of the money this year just on the basic supplies. My students need a variety of acrylic paints. Acrylic paints are too expensive for my budget, but are the perfect medium to use on the wooden chairs. Once the chairs are painted, who knows what other objects we will find to paint to help beautify the school.

The paint we are requesting seems simple, but is necessary for our project. My students don't know you, but they thank you for all of your help and support. They love painting. Thank you in advance for your time, your help, your support of the arts and our classroom! We truly appreciate your assistance and everything that you do to enhance our students' educational experiences.
