Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am honored to currently teach 15 wonderful 3-year-olds in a city in New Jersey. My students live in an area that is unfortunately plagued with drug addiction, gang violence and other characteristics that can create a stressful environment for any individual.
Despite these conditions, my students come in with a smile on their face, an eager curiosity to learn new things and a passion to let their creative juices flow!
These students are an extension of my family and seeing them grow and develop a love for learning is why I became an educator!
My Project
A large class carpet is an important meeting place in a Pre-K classroom. Whether it's for morning meeting, story time, a puppet show, a few friends putting together a floor puzzle, or an impromptu dance party, a class carpet serves several purposes.
A bright & vibrant rug is the first thing children see when they come to the class in the morning.
Unfortunately, our current rug has seen better days. From accidental vomiting, juice spills, Play Doh stains, or just normal wear & tear, the carpet has definitely seen better days.
A new carpet will help brighten the student's day!
