Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am seeking donations of markers and felt for our upcoming classes in nutrition and interpersonal studies. These supplies will play a crucial role in enhancing the learning experience of students. With markers, students will be able to create colorful and engaging presentations that illustrate key concepts in nutrition, proper food handling among other concepts taught.

In addition, students will be participating in collaborative group work where they will use these markers to brainstorm, plan, and execute projects together.

This fosters teamwork and communication skills, which are essential components of both nutrition and wellness and interpersonal studies classes. By working together, students will learn to appreciate diverse perspectives and develop strong interpersonal relationships, preparing them for real-world interactions.

Lastly, in interpersonal studies, there will be a unit in which the focus will be to teach adulting skills, including sewing. The felt we are requesting will be used in practical sewing lessons, where students will learn to create and mend clothing. This valuable skill is part of our comprehensive approach to preparing students for adulthood.

By supporting our request for markers and felt, you are directly contributing to the development of essential life skills and empowering our students to succeed both academically and personally.
