Bright Lights Will Inspire You!

My students need materials like puzzles and books that teach them about New York's history, people, geography, and economy. These will greatly enhance our Social Studies unit about NYC, a major component of our 2nd grade curriculum.

My Students

My students have fallen in love with reading and the people they meet, places they visit, and adventures they encounter through books! I want to stock my classroom library with as many wonderfully exciting, challenging, and engaging books as possible, in the hopes that my students will not only embrace reading and learning, but embrace others and the world around them.

My 2nd graders attend a collaborative, diverse, and creative public school in Brooklyn, NY.

We teach our students to be intellectually curious learners, socially responsible citizens, and dynamic problem solvers.

Part of being socially and civically responsible citizens is understanding the history, geography, and population of the city in which they live! Providing materials to my students that teach them about New York's history, people, geography, and economy will greatly enhance our Social Studies unit about NYC, a major component of our 2nd grade curriculum.

My Project

Part of being socially and civically responsible citizens is understanding the history, geography, and population of the city in which they live! New York has such an incredible story to tell....

Providing materials to my students that teach them about New York's history, people, geography, and economy will greatly enhance our Social Studies unit about NYC, a major component of our 2nd grade curriculum.

I want to bring the city of New York alive for my students. The interactive books, 3D puzzles, and historical texts will help them explore, understand, and appreciate the amazing state and city they live in. For example, students will study landmarks in New York City and their historical significance; they will CONSTRUCT the landmarks they're studying via 3D puzzles!
