My Students

My school consists of many lower-income learners. It is culturally and academically diverse. It is a magnet school for gifted students. Our grade level has three general education classes and one Accelerated Learning Class.

I want to surround my students with bright supplies and accessories to make my classroom and their learning better than ever!

I can’t wait to see my students smile as they enter an inviting room after such a long quarantine. Being able to use brightly colored tape and tools stimulate creativity!

My Project

One of the greatest compliments came when a very excited 2nd-grade boy, innocently told me "Mrs. Nickerson, our classroom is like a kid's heaven!" This is the atmosphere I strive to create each and every year.

Bright colors energize kids!

Whether it's pillows or chairs, paints or prizes, or playdough and stamps, my room will be inviting and exciting! I love that my students will be able to have nice paper, paints, and art supplies to create. Being able to choose bright-colored prizes and sit in colorful chairs adds so much to the feel of my class.

Students will enjoy the chairs and cushions for many years. The art supplies will bring great joy for this year's kids to use. Donors Choose has helped transform my room!
