This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am very proud of all the success and accomplishments that my students have had this school year! They started the year as non readers and by mid-year 70% of them became fluent readers and writers.
Coming to school everyday on time to learn is not an easy task for some of my students, but regardless of their family situation, they are coming to school everyday eager to learn and have new experiences.
Be respectful, Be responsible, and Be safe are behaviors that we practice everyday in order to prepare and in the future become responsible and productive citizens in our society.
Sadly, our school does not have the budget or resources necessary to provide my students with more educational experiences in the classroom. Our school is a tittle 1 school. We have 100% free lunch participation. Our computer lab. needs to be updated and serviced. We don't have functional printers. The one that all teachers share is only black and white because the school can not afford color ink.
Our classroom science materials are very limited.
Despite of these, we are happily learning!
My Project
Kids go to school expecting to learn, meet some friends, and have some fun. It is the job of a teacher to provide a safe and inviting learning environment which promotes academics.
Going into a colorful and inviting classroom stimulates learning and promotes the desire to learn and see the school work displayed.
All the classroom accents and decorations in my project will help me provide my students with a fun and colorful learning environment. Moreover, I will decorate and display my students writings, pieces of art, and other student created projects using the donated materials. Adding a splash of color and fun little characters makes a big difference in a classroom!
