Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Teaching elementary children how to read is more than just picture books. I have to show my students how vowels and consonants work together to create sounds which create words and ultimately create meaning.

As a reading teacher, I hold a big responsibility in teaching little ones how to read.

How will I use my resources? The laminating sheets will be used to laminate resources so that students can use them over and over again. The sentence strips will be used by students so they can learn handwriting, spelling and punctuation. The whiteboard markers will be used so that students can use their individual whiteboards to participate in activities. The Sharpie markers will be used to give feedback on their handwriting sheets as they learn to write on their own. The card stock paper will be used in creative activities for pronunciation and spelling and lastly the emoticon pencils will be used as rewards for all their hard work! All these resources will be used to give them a successful learning experience in small groups!

My students are amazing! Even though they live in a low-income area, they are so resilient and motivated to learn! My goal is to be able to give them the tools they need to keep learning and continue to help their families as they build a solid foundation of their education.
