Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Inspire a lifetime of passionate learning and help set our academic and socio-emotional foundation! Many of my transitional kindergartners have never been in school before. Books, puppets, and sensory tools will inspire their curiosity and love of learning.
My 42 transitional kindergartners come from many different cultures and speak many different languages, but they're all energetic, curious, and quick learners.
They bring diverse experience to the classroom. With more than 70% English-Language Learners and 85% receiving free-and-reduced-price lunch services, our school has a high need for quality learning resources to enliven our classroom and serve our population. We guide our classroom by our school's core values: respect, responsibility, persistence, empathy, and initiative.
My Project
Imagine my young students gathered on our community carpet, mesmerized by a character-building book and engaged in lessons that will set the foundations of their reading lives, all guided by engaging puppet friends that make learning memorable and fun. At independent centers, my students will practice the skills they learned together to solve problems and develop their senses and oral language using sensory tools.
My students have a life of learning ahead of them.
These resources will help set a solid foundation in academics and solidify a strong sense of self and character that will carry them their entire lives.
