My Project

My students have been struggling to understand the curriculum with the limited time we get to go over the new material. With these gift cards, I planned to get a calendar warmup for every day of the school year. This will help reinforce concepts such as place value, counting with counters, and things we don't get explicit instruction to go over, such as days of the week, months of the year, and reinforcing counting in sequence.

I also plan to get social-emotional activities to pair with the current curriculum to make it more engaging and reinforce concepts that we go over, such as respect for yourself and others.

I want to see more kindness in my students towards their environment, but unfortunately, that is something that is learned. Most of my students' parents work full-time or come from a household where there simply isn't time to teach these things. I hope to help bridge that gap in the classroom and help these busy parents raise kind and caring individuals.
