This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our Title I school, we are dedicated to closing the reading gap and empowering all students to become confident and enthusiastic readers. However, to achieve this goal, we urgently need a wider range of high-quality literacy materials specifically designed for effective small group instruction. I am requesting Reading Comprehension Folder Game Library, Rhyming Words Learning Center Game, Vocabulary Grab & Play Game and other literacy tools.

The Challenge:

Many of our students come from underprivileged backgrounds and lack access to rich literacy experiences at home. This can lead to them falling behind their grade level in reading fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary development. Traditional whole-class instruction often struggles to meet the diverse needs of students at varying reading levels.

The Solution: Small Group Intervention

Small group instruction allows us to provide targeted support and differentiated learning experiences. By working with students in smaller groups, we can tailor our instruction to their specific reading challenges and strengths. This fosters a more engaging and effective learning environment.

What We Need:

To make this small group intervention a success, we are seeking a variety of engaging literacy materials, such as:

-Comprehension activities: Interactive worksheets, puzzles, and graphic organizers encourage deeper understanding of the text.

-Vocabulary development tools: Games, flashcards, and activities help students build a strong vocabulary base.

-Manipulatives and counters: These hands-on tools can be particularly helpful for kinesthetic learners who benefit from a tactile approach.

By providing these essential literacy materials, you will be directly contributing to our mission of closing the reading gap.
