Help me give my students tablets and copies of the novel The Westing Game to bring engaging fun with technology to a complex novel!

My Students
My 6th grade English Language Arts students are truly an inspiration. Many of my students come from low income homes, and are still learning to have a love for literacy. With that said, if something is technology based they are bought in! I love watching them collaborate, then turn to their phones to google which person was right and who was wrong. I love it even more when their discussions lead them to exploring new information or concepts. Novel studies are also more exciting for my students, as it breaks away from the “boring textbook”. My classroom has a cafe vibe, so reading books together brings our classroom community even closer!
My Project
This novel study with the Amazon Fire tablets will allow my students to engage with a novel on a more engaging and interactive level. Students will be able to collaborate across class periods, foster their learning in collaborative groups by asking questions while tracking character and plot development. To conclude the unit the students will complete a group presentation based on the character development throughout the novel.
Currently, my school does not have this novel nor any tablets available.
This project would be a game changer for my students and our classroom. I predict they will not only enjoy this novel study with technology embedded into the activities, but have many things to talk about and remember as they go forward in their education.
