My Project
At a Title I school in Williamsburg, we are committed to ensuring that all of our students have the tools and resources they need to succeed academically. However, many of our students lack equal access to the technology they need to engage with lessons and instructional materials fully. While students at the front of the classroom can interact with the smart board, many students in the back of the classroom do not have the same access to technology; we use chart paper and dry-erase board, which limits their ability to participate in learning activities fully.
I aim to give each student the same opportunity to participate in and interact with the curriculum, participate in interactive lessons, and fully engage with digital learning resources.
We also aim to foster engagement and participation. With equal access to technology, students will be able to participate more actively in lessons, complete assignments more efficiently, and work collaboratively with their peers.
This will allow students across the classroom to have equal access to technology, fostering a more inclusive and equitable learning environment.
This proposal seeks funding to provide our students with the necessary device, an LG 27-inch Class StandByMe 1080=portable touch-screen Monitor-27ART10AKPL. This will bring them up to par with their peers and enable them to engage directly with digital content and interact with a touch screen from any seat in the classroom.
Title 1 schools serve students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, leading to cultural, social, and linguistic diversity. These students bring varied perspectives and life experiences that enrich classroom discussions and collaborative work. My general education students have the opportunity to work alongside students with diverse learning needs. This promotes empathy, patience, and collaboration, skills they may not fully develop in a more segregated classroom setting.
