Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students bring a love of learning, a new song to sing, and an array of bright smiles to my door every day. Unfortunately, they also come laden with worries, heartaches, and troubles.

My students live in a small, rural community with an extremely high level of poverty and a large population of English Language Learners.

Many of these littlest learners are lacking food, shelter, adult interaction, adequate sleep, and structure in their daily lives. That is where I come into the picture!

My Project

These new STEM centers will be used by my kindergarten students as they explore designing, building, and experimenting with various materials and structures. My students will be able to have a wider variety of materials to choose from, as well as some specific project plans for inspiration.

By storing these materials in individual bins, my students will be able to continue using them during our daily free play time while our school is in the in-person or hybrid model because they can be easily sanitized and they lend themselves to individual exploration very well.
