My Project

Our 2nd grade classroom in Washington, DC needs your help.

At the start of this school year, our students faced significant academic challenges:

•Reading: 46% began at a Kindergarten level, 44% at a 1st-grade level

• Math: 41% began at a Kindergarten level, 59% at a 1st-grade level

Despite these obstacles, our students are motivated, curious, and eager to learn. As a Title 1 school, we work every day to close those gaps—but we need the right tools to do it.

Right now, 42 students share just 14 computers. Thanks to generous support, we’ve made progress from only 11 devices to 14, but that’s still far from what our students need.

Our goal is 1:1 access so every child can learn at their own pace. This DonorsChoose project will fund 5 more laptops, bringing us to 19 devices, an important step toward equitable access.

Technology allows us to provide differentiated instruction, reinforce key skills, and meet students exactly where they are.
