This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a hands on training school for students with special needs. We focus on activities that can be useful out in the workforce. This project is requesting items for a working coffee shop. The students learn how to make lattes, cappuccinos, iced blended drinks, a regular cup of Joe and much more. They learn to use a register just like they use in most workplaces. We still need some supplies to be a fully functioning coffee shop, but we are on the right track. The kids would like to be able to cater events and sell already inhouse bottled iced coffee, lemonades and iced teas. Supplies like a coffee machine, cups, jars, and printing labels will help us get there. At our café we try to provide a safe space to socialize with their peers to talk, play games and enjoy themselves.
