My Project

I teach in a historically high-poverty area that serves students from communities that have low employment and high drop-out rates. These students are rising scholars, manufacturers, creators, and entrepreneurs who need experience creating things with their hands, retail experience, and people skills. Implementing a coffee cart within our educational environment will benefit our students significantly by providing a practical and engaging platform to develop essential life skills. The presence of a dedicated cooler and cart, stocked with specialty beverage supplies serves as a hands-on training ground for honing various skills.

This initiative imparts practical life skills and promotes a sense of inclusion and empowerment for our students, contributing to their overall personal and social development.

Through the operation of the cart, students can practice and enhance their organizational abilities, time management, and financial literacy. Additionally, the social aspect of the coffee cart creates valuable opportunities for students to engage in meaningful conversations, fostering social interaction and communication skills. By embracing this inclusive approach, we empower students to navigate real-world scenarios confidently and cultivate an environment that celebrates diversity and encourages peer support.
