Project Description:

At the Cherry Creek School District Transition program, we pride ourselves on providing real-world learning experiences for students.

One of the highlights of our program is Equal Grounds, our student-run coffee shop, which has been serving our school community with passion for 5 years. To expand our offerings and provide even more valuable skills to our students, we are excited to introduce espresso and latte options!

To make this vision a reality, we are seeking funding support to acquire an espresso machine. This addition to our coffee shop will not only enhance our menu but provide invaluable learning opportunities for our students.

Skill Development: Operating an espresso machine requires precision, attention to detail, and teamwork. By learning to use this equipment, our students will develop valuable skills in time management, customer service, and mastering complex machinery.

Career Readiness: Many of our students aspire to pursue careers in the hospitality industry. Introducing espresso and latte options will expose them to the workings of a professional coffee shop, preparing them for future employment opportunities.

Entrepreneurial Spirit: Our students take pride in running Equal Grounds as a business. Adding espresso and latte options will allow them to explore new revenue streams and hone their entrepreneurial mindset as they manage inventory, pricing, and customer demand.

Community Engagement: Equal Grounds is not just a coffee shop; it's a hub for our school community to gather, connect, and support one another. By expanding our menu, we hope to attract even more students, teachers, and families to enjoy a warm beverage and conversation together.
