Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in elementary schools is crucial for fostering healthy emotional development and building essential interpersonal skills.

By teaching kids how to understand and manage their emotions, set positive goals, show empathy, and develop strong relationships, SEL helps create a positive school culture.

Early SEL intervention lays the foundation for academic success, reduces bullying, and improves overall well-being. In today's diverse and often stressful environment, SEL empowers students to navigate challenges with resilience and confidence, setting them up for success both inside and outside the classroom.

Breathe for Change Professional Development will allow me to work with our students, faculty, and community to improve mental health, physical health, and resiliency. Through this online learning experience, I will become a certified SEL Facilitator and Yoga instructor. This will enable me to possess the skills and certifications needed to lead inclusive, trauma-informed yoga and wellness sessions for students, colleagues, and families in my community.
