My Students

Students in my school endure trauma daily, and I can make a difference by anchoring my guiding principles and lessons in mindfulness. It's a gift to provide my students with inner balance and peace in chaos and social uncertainty, a gift that cannot be taken away, a gift that will serve them forever. This is why I will be starting yoga certification through Breathe for Change, a program designed for educators to take into the classroom. Knowing that yoga has been a strategic avenue to get me through my personal challenges and knowing that it will do the same for them in their daily lives is my motivation.

My Project

By becoming yoga certified, I will be able to incorporate mindfulness practices in the classroom. What makes these mindfulness principles so valuable is that they cannot be taken from them, don't require an Internet connection, and they can be done with no outside tools, just their breath, bodies, and minds.

My goal is to instill kindness, self-love, physical and mental strength and balance, and, above all, inner peace and resiliency in my students, many of whom have trauma and/or anxiety.

This mindfulness platform will benefit both the youth and adults in my school district, as well as boost my own well-being.
