My Project
Breathe for Change is a transformative higher education institution committed to empowering educators by offering a 200-hour Yoga Teacher and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Facilitator Certification program. These certifications will equip me with the necessary skills to integrate mindfulness, meditation, and inclusive yoga practices into my teaching that are specifically tailored to meet the individual needs of my Kindergarten through 2nd grade students with autism. Becoming a certified instructor will enable me to play a key role in fostering a stronger, healthier school culture by integrating mindfulness and SEL practices into everyday life, benefiting both my students and the entire school community.
By incorporating SEL strategies and mindfulness techniques into daily practice, I will be able to foster emotional regulation, social skills, and self-awareness in my students, providing them with tools to navigate both the classroom and social environments with greater confidence and resilience.
In addition to supporting my students, these certifications will enable me to lead wellness workshops for families and staff within our school community. These workshops will focus on practical tools for promoting emotional well-being, stress reduction, and effective communication, creating a more supportive and inclusive environment for everyone involved.
