My Students

My students make up a second-grade class in an inner-city community school that’s located in a low socio-economic area of New York City. Almost 90% of students come from low-income households. Despite their economic hurdles, these students bring passion and desire to learn new things every day.

My students are spirited, intelligent, and love learning!

I teach an amazing class of 32 kids in Jamaica, Queens. Many of my students are English Language Learners. Most receive free and reduced-price lunch. All of my students are creative, thoughtful, and eager learners.

My Project

With so much worry about the return to school for students, I want to prepare my classroom for their return. An air purifier and filters will help to clean the air and improve the air quality in my classroom for my students. An air purifier will help to minimize the spread of everyday germs, allergens, and dust. Clean air will help my students be healthy, alert, and ready for learning. Not only will an air purifier and filters help to keep students safe and healthy with the current pandemic that we are facing, it will also help my students with severe allergies, and they will provide a cleaner environment for my students to learn in.

Please help us stay healthy while learning so that when we are back together as a classroom community we can all breathe a little easier.
