Benjamin Franklin's quote is exactly what I want to do for my students.

I want to involve them in their own learning. I have a classroom of 26 eager second grade learners. They love to study, explore, and create,which is great for their imaginations and ability to learn.

To have Breakout EDU kits at their fingertips will enhance their learning, foster teamwork, and keep them motivated! Critical thinking skills, problem solving, and collaboration are skills my students need as lifelong learners.

My Project

Breakout EDU was developed as a gaming experience which teachers can use to engage students in their learning in a different way. It uses locks, invisible markers with UV flashlights, timers, safes, and locked boxes, along with story lines, puzzles, and codes. The kit includes access to hundreds of puzzles, but teachers may also design their own puzzles and challenges, thus making the supply of games endless and giving teachers the ability to match their curriculum specifically. In the game, students are given a challenge which requires them to work together to solve a series of puzzles and figure out clues. Students must work as a team in order to ultimately open the final lock and solve the game.

This kit will motivate my students and help foster the skills which will move my students forward as lifelong learners.

My students really enjoyed our first kit, and were fully engaged, but having a second one will allow them to be more hands-on with the locks. Having additional flashlights will make it easier to solve the puzzles within their time constraints.
