My students are amazing! They surprise me each and every day and keep me learning more for them. We seriously have some of the best students in our small-town elementary school.
My students are always ready to try something new/ Because of that, I want to be a better teacher everyday.
I want to grow with them!
Our school is over sixty percent free or reduced price lunch recipients, but together our community, parents and staff work to get us everything we need. I am so grateful to have wonderful people like you also partnering with us to help get our students everything they so deserve.
My Project
When you first saw this project you probably said, "What is Breakout EDU? What is Cricut? Raz?" These aren't words that you would necessarily see in every classroom, but I want my students to break out of the ordinary. I don't want them to just come to school to get information and leave.
I want to build excitement.
I want to create a classroom that keeps students engaged and excited about learning.
Breakout EDU is a way for me to take content and design escape games for my students. By solving clues they break out of boxes and in turn solve the final puzzle. Platform access gets me access to thousands of pre-built games I can then form to our classroom. Breakout EDU also aligns with our STEM goals for each student. Many of the breakouts we use are filled with magical math, science and engineering finds and digital breakouts are some of my students favorites as well.
Cricut Design access gives my students access to thousands of fonts and images that they can use to design projects that go along with any academic project.
Raz-kids is a digital book reading app that I was able to get in my classroom last year through DonorsChoose.org. While I give my students lots of time to read real books, I also feel this digital option is great for my students. Along with in classroom use, this also gives my students access to these digital books at home.
Lastly, I would like my students to be able to pick out one book to take home during the first month of school. I want to build readers and one way to do this is to allow them choice in what they are reading. I was able to do this last year and I know how excited my students were. I can't wait t do this again.
So, will you embark on this adventure with me? Will you help us break out of the ordinary?
