Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is located in Northern California. I teach 22 energetic third graders from Spanish speaking homes. The majority qualify for the free/reduced price food program. Some come from difficult circumstances such as broken families, poverty, health issues, learning disabilities, and language/cultural barriers. Each child is curious about the world around them. They are eager to experience what I can bring into the classroom.

Despite these obstacles, the students come to class with an eager smile on their faces, ready to participate and become 21st century learners.
My Project
Breakouts can be used to teach academic subjects including math, science, history, and language arts and have embedded standards that apply problem solving strategies within a real world challenge. It will allow students to work collaboratively in a fun setting. The boxes will be challenging yet engaging. The students will learn as they're having fun. It creates a memorable experience in my classroom.
Students will be better prepared and equipped for higher learning and future jobs by learning how to work together in diverse groups.
Breakouts give a chance to see and understand how students' strengths can be utilized for the success of the group. To do this, my students need a variety of locks, safes, UV markers, and UV lights.
